AT&T Adds St. Louis to LTE Coverage Map

· by · News

AT&T has expanded its LTE coverage area to include St, Louis, Missouri, bringing the total number of cities where its high speed wireless data service is available up to 32. Along with St. Louis, AT&T also expended its LTE coverage area in Staten Island, New York.

The announcement comes as good news for third generation iPad users in St. Louis since they can now take advantage of the faster speeds AT&T’s 4G LTE service offers. Bumping up to 32 cities, however, still leaves AT&T far behind Verizon’s 200 city coverage map.

Apple included 4G LTE support in some third generation iPad models, giving the multimedia tablet a wireless data performance boost over the iPhone 4S and its HSPA+ speeds — recently rebranded from 3G to 4G.

AT&T’s 4G LTE coverage areas include some cities in Georgia, Texas, Maryland, Indiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Illinois, Missouri, Nevada, California, New York, Oklahoma, Florida, and Arizona. 4G LTE is also available in Washington D.C. and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
