Elgato announced Monday the release of EyeTV 1.1, an update to the iPhone app that brings live TV streaming to the iPad, too. Elgato’s iPhone app is a Universal app, meaning that it’s one app for both the iPhone and iPad.
EyeTV is a companion app for Elgato’s EyeTV for Mac, and requires a Mac with a compatible TV tuner (also available from Elgato) running version 3.4 of the software. Thus equipped, an iPhone and now iPad owner can stream the TV shows from his or her Mac to her iPad or iPhone.
EyeTV 1.1 includes an interface redesigned for the iPad that takes advantage of the device’s larger screen and higher resolution. The app allows streaming TV across either a WiFi connection, or through a 3G connection for iPhone and iPad’s with 3G.
The update is free for existing owners of EyeTV for iPhone, and the full version is priced at US$4.99.
