FileMaker Intros Bento for iPad

FileMaker announced the immediate availability of Bento for the iPad on Friday. Bento is FileMaker’s personal database application, and while the new version is based on Bento for the iPhone, it sports several features designed just for the iPad.

Like Bento for the iPhone, Bento for the iPad supports synchronizing data with the Mac OS X version of the application. It also supports Bento’s database templates, includes its own clipboard, notebook and glass themes, and supports portrait and landscape viewing.

Bento for the iPhone supports in-app Web browsing so users don’t have to leave the app to view URLs in records, videos and photos are viewable in the app, users can send emails without switching to the Mail app, and it includes a to-do style checklist view. The app also supports 15 database field types including text, numbers, choice, checkbox, media, time, date, durations, currency, rating, address, phone number, email, URL and IM Account.

Bento for the iPad is priced at US$4.99 and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
