iPad iWork Updates Add iOS 4.2 Support, More

· by · Product News

Apple’s iWork suite for the iPad will be getting an update on Monday that adds support for iOS 4.2. The updates for Pages, Numbers and Keynote add support AirPrint wireless printing along with iOS 4.2 multitasking.

Keynote presenters will finally be able to see slide notes, along with the current and next slides, on their iPad when connected to an external display or projector. The app can import Keynote ‘09 and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations more reliably now, too.

Pages can now handle table pagination automatically when they cross over a page break, handles Pages ‘09 and Microsoft Word importing better, and the ruler bar now shows when formatting has been applied to text.

The update for Numbers lets users preview how spreadsheets will look when printed across pages, added the ability to enter formulas via keyboards, and added a predictive function selector.

Exporting PDF documents from the iWork apps is more reliable now thanks to an issue related to font compatibility that’s been addressed.

Keynote 1.3, Pages 1.3 and Numbers 1.3 will be available as free updates via Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
