Apple released Mac Pro Audio Update 1.1 late on Monday. The update addressed what Apple called “an audio anomaly that some customers may hear coming from inside their Mac Pro computer when using FireWire audio devices.”
The update requires the Mac Pro model that was introduced in early 2009 and Mac OS X 10.6.3.
Mac Pro Audio Update 1.1 is available via the Software Update application, or as a downloadable installer at the Apple Support Web site.

about time, now all I need is a mac pro

I think it’s time we call this update the Dave Hamilton update.
