Ukrainian developer Boolat Mobile on Friday announced the release of the App Store game Sea Spooney, in which players guide a buccaneer through the treacherous Caribbean Sea so he can meet his beloved mermaid. He lost his ship, but he has a wooden barrel to use as a lifeboat.
Players traverse 20 levels, dodging sharks while trying to catch fish and squid. They can use their handheld's accelerometer or onscreen buttons to control the action, tapping to catch fish. Sea Spooney also features an achievement system that encourages players to collect various objects.
The game sells for US$0.99 and requires iPhone OS 3.0. Boolat said Sea Spooney is the deluxe version of a previous title called Sinking Jack, which is no longer available.
