Skype 4.2.1 Update Bug Fixes

Skype’s recent iOS update to version 4.2 is already set for a patch to address some critical bugs that slipped out into the release build. Skype 4.2.1 is available now on the App Store.

The changes found in 4.2.1 are detailed on Skype’s Garage Blog and include fixes for long sign-out times for users with a large number of contacts, the ability to cancel the sign-in process, the ability to end calls if the app is being run on several devices simultaneously, and a fix for a crash caused by placing the app in the background while making a call before the intended recipient had answered.

Skype 4.2 was released Wednesday and brought integration with Microsoft communication services to the app for the first time since Microsoft purchased Skype in May 2011. Users of 4.2 are urged to download the 4.2.1 update from the iOS App Store as soon as possible to avoid crashes and poor performance.
