South Korea, 11 other Countries get iPad Today

Sales of Apple’s third generation iPad kick of on Friday in South Korea and 11 other countries. Apple released the new iPad model the U.S. and several other countries on March 16, and has been expanding into new markets ever since.

Along with South Korea, today’s iPad launch list includes Brunei, Croatia, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malaysia, Panama, St Maarten, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Apple plans to release the third generation iPad in Colombia, Estonia, India, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, South, Africa, and Thailand next Friday, April 27.

The newest iPad model includes a high resolution Retina Display, Apple’s A5X processor with quad-core graphics, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a 5 megapixel camera with 1080p video capture support, and some models include 4G LTE high speed wireless data support, too.

The third generation iPad has been Apple’s largest to date. Sales during the first three days of U.S. availability hit three million units. Senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller calling the event “the strongest iPad launch yet.”
