Update Adds OS X 10.8.2 Features to New Retina MacBook Pro

Apple released its first software update for the brand new 13.3-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display late on Wednesday. The update, which rolled out only a day after the new laptop was announced, adds features from the Mountain Lion 10.8.2 update such as single sign on support for Facebook and shared Reminders lists.

The update also improved USB 3 reliability, improved graphics performance and reliability, added the ability to discard changes in the original document when using Save As, and more. Along with the new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, the update is also available for the new 21.5-inch iMac and new Mac mini.

OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Update for Apple's new MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini is available via Software Upate, or as a downloadable installer at the Apple support website.

Not being snarky or snide, but Apple seems to have had to release “patches” to coincide with it’s new hardware the last couple of years.

I do wonder if Apple is pushing the envelope just a tad ?
