Verbatim Announces Speaker Keyboard, Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB Drive

January 7th, 2009 at 6:16 PM - News by John F. Braun

SAN FRANCISCO -- At this week's Macworld Expo, Verbatim introduced their Speaker Keyboard, a Mac keyboard that is more than just a keyboard, and the Store 'n' Go Micro USB drive, which offers both storage and security. Crystal Moore, Corporate Marketing Manager, gave us an overview of these new products.

The Speaker Keyboard has an integrated dual speaker system for stereo sound, and volume and bass boost controls to control the audio. There are also media controls, such as play and pause, designed for use with iTunes and other audio programs. To round things out, the keys are backlit, providing improved key visibility in low light.

The Store 'n' Go Micro USB drive is only 1.22” long, ½” wide and 0.08” thick, and weighs .05 ounces. The drives will be available in capacities of 2GB (orange), 4GB (green) and 8GB (purple). For security conscious PC users, the Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB Drives includes password security to protect sensitive data in a user defined private zone, while allowing a public zone for open access and sharing of non-sensitive content.

The Speaker Keyboard is priced at US$69.99. The Store 'n' Go Micro will be available in late January, and priced at US$19.99 for the 2GB drive, US$29.99 for the 4GB drive and US$49.99 for the 8GB drive.

Re: Store ‘n’ Go…

PC users? Or does the software work with a Mac? Does it require the installation of drivers?

Updated article with product links.  According to the press release, the micro USB drive will support Mac, Linux and PC.
