Bridging Book for Kids Marries Real Book to iPad

| Cool Stuff Found

This is so very cool! It's a project under development called Bridging Book, a combination physical book and iPad app that makes one the extension of the other. In the image, you can see  how the picture extends up from the book onto the iPad's screen, but when your child flips the page on the book, the page turns on the iPad, too, making it very interactive. It does this with magnets embedded in the pages of the book—the app uses the iPad's magnetometer to read and interpret changes in the magnetic field. Cool, eh? As noted above, this is a research project, but we hope it reaches a commercial stage. You can see more in the video. [Via Wired]
