Apple Releases OS X Yosemite Public Beta

Star Trek Online Finally Comes to the Mac

After a four year wait Star Trek gaming fans can finally play the Star Trek Online multiplayer game on the Mac. Windows PC users have been able to visit strange new worlds and new civilizations ever since the game launched, but Mac users were left in space dock with no way to warp out of orbit.

Zynga Cuts Staff, Buys Clumsy Ninja Maker

Zynga, the company that owns iPhone games like Words With Friends and Draw Something, is laying off 15 percent of its staff while at the same time buying NaturalMotion, the company behing Clumsy Ninja. The US$527 million deal also gives Zynga NaturalMotion's other iOS games including Icebreaker Hockey, CSR Racing, and Jenga.

Seeing more layoffs at Zynga hurts, and probably doesn't make Clumsy Ninja fans feel very confident about the game's future. Hopefully buying NaturalMotion won't leave Clumsy Ninja, CSR Racing, and Jenga fans in the lurch.

The game allows you to play either the Light or the Dark, and includes a host of Star Wars characters lovingly created in LEGO realism.

Dave Peck at WWDC: Making VPN Fun and Easy (for a Change)

Dave Peck, Peter Sagerson and Nick Robinson were all doing freelance work in Seattle. They would gather at one of the many coffee shops there, getting caffeinated and doing their work. Then one day, Dave Peck realized they were using all these open wireless networks, completely non-secure, and doing sensitive client work. Then they realized they needed one of those VPN clients. Except, they were all so bad.  The rest is history.
