UAG Scout iPad Air Case Offers Full Protection

Urban Armor Gear (UAG) has released a full coverage case (Scout) for the iPad Air. Although very sturdy, it weighs only 12.1 ounces (343 grams). The case is water and impact resistant and provides a good grip. It meets military drop-test standards. The MSRP is US$49.95.

The case is available in black only.  UAG has incorporated an excellent feature that it uses in it’s iPhone case covers. Over-sized tactile buttons make it easy to adjust sound and turn the iPad on or off. All the necessary openings are present and of good size. The sound seems to be un-compromised by the case.

Using The Product

The iPad sits securely in the case and it easy to insert.  There is just enough elasticity in the case bottom to make removable relatively easy as well. The top folds under to make a secure stand.

Case in stand mode.

Even with the iPad in the case utilizing the stand, there are clear shots for the camera. There is some advantage to this as I was able to put the stand in the lowest setting and take good pictures of items laying on the table.

Packaging

The Scout iPad Air case comes in a simple, clear plastic package. The package has openings that allow potential buyers to feel both the front and back of the case.

Do I Recommend It?

I do. I like the feel and weight of this case and appreciate the full coverage for my iPad. The stand is quite functional and when in stand mode, the ribbed top of the case forms a nice base for the stand and keeps the iPad from moving around.
