Apple has introduced new packaging for the latest Studio Display models, and this time the focus is on what happens after you unbox the product. The company says the new boxes for Studio Display and Studio Display XDR now feature a collapsible design that lets you break them down into smaller pieces so they fit inside most household recycling bins, which makes disposal easier for customers who do not want to deal with oversized cardboard packaging.
The redesigned boxes are part of Appleās broader environmental push tied to the launch of the new displays. Alongside hardware upgrades and display improvements, Apple says it has engineered both models to reduce environmental impact through recycled materials and smarter packaging choices that simplify recycling at home.
āThe 100 percent fiber-based box has been extensively redesigned for collapsibility, allowing it to be broken down into smaller pieces that will fit in most household recycling bins.ā
The company also confirmed that both Studio Display and Studio Display XDR use 80 percent recycled glass in the standard glass models, which Apple describes as an āApple first.ā This recycled glass milestone does not apply to the optional nano-texture glass versions.
In addition, the stands use 100 percent recycled aluminum, reinforcing Appleās stated goal of reducing its carbon footprint across its product lineup.
With collapsible, fiber-based packaging and higher recycled content inside the hardware, Apple ties the new Studio Display family to its wider environmental commitments while delivering its latest display technology.
