Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models may not bring the smaller Dynamic Island that many earlier rumors suggested. Several reports over the past year claimed Apple planned to reduce the size of the Dynamic Island in the next generation, but recent information now points to Apple keeping the same design for another year.
Recent supply chain chatter suggests Apple plans to reuse parts of the current design for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. The Face ID system and the Dynamic Island area are expected to remain largely unchanged. Instead of focusing on front display changes, Apple appears to be directing attention toward internal upgrades such as a faster processor, a larger battery, and improved camera hardware.
Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station shared this claim based on supply chain information, stating that Apple plans to delay the under-display Face ID system and a smaller Dynamic Island until a later generation.
More Reports About the Dynamic Island
Rumors about the iPhone 18 Pro design have changed several times. Earlier this year, leakers, including Instant Digital, suggested the Dynamic Island would become narrower. Display analyst Ross Young also supported this claim, and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman later reported the same possibility.
Still, Apple’s plans often change during development. Similar rumors appeared before the iPhone 17 Pro launch, yet Apple ultimately kept the same Dynamic Island size.
Looking further ahead, Apple reportedly aims to create a full glass iPhone with no visible cutouts. Analysts expect that design to appear around the company’s 20th anniversary iPhone in 2027. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to launch in fall 2026.
