Apple has officially released iOS 26.5 for iPhone users, and while this is not a massive update, it still adds a few useful changes ahead of WWDC 2026 next month. The update focuses on Messages, Apple Maps, wallpapers, and several under-the-hood improvements for supported iPhones.
One of the biggest additions is end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging in beta, which improves security for chats between iPhone and Android users. Apple has also added a new Pride Luminance wallpaper that dynamically shifts colors depending on movement and lighting effects on your screen.
Another notable change is a new Suggested Places feature in Apple Maps. The app can now recommend nearby trending places based on your recent searches and activity.
