Apple appears to be preparing iOS 26.5.2 as another bug fix update for iPhone users, even as most attention has now moved to iOS 27 and its upcoming public beta release.
According to 9to5Mac, Apple employees have started testing iOS 26.5.2 internally, based on visitor logs seen by the publication. The report says signs of the update first appeared last week, and activity has increased since then.
MacRumors has also spotted iOS 26.5.2 in its own analytics, which suggests Apple is moving ahead with another minor iPhone software update before iOS 27 reaches users later this year.
The update will likely focus on bug fixes, small system improvements, and possible security patches. Apple has not confirmed the exact changes yet, so users should not expect major new features in this release.
Apple released iOS 26.5 last month with end-to-end encryption for RCS messages, a new Pride Luminance wallpaper, and a Suggested Places feature in Apple Maps. After that, iOS 26.5.1 arrived with a fix for a charging issue affecting some iPhone 17 and iPhone Air models.
Meanwhile, Apple continues testing iOS 26.6 with developers, while iOS 27 remains in early beta testing. The iOS 27 public beta will arrive in July, but iOS 26.5.2 should give current iPhone users a more stable experience before the bigger update launches later this year.
