iPhone Air 2 Battery Upgrade Tipped With Bigger 3,500mAh Capacity

Apple Is Testing a Thinner Face ID System for iPhone Air 2, Says Report

Apple is reportedly preparing major upgrades for the iPhone Air 2, with new leaks pointing to a bigger battery and a second rear camera when the device launches next year.

The current iPhone Air has a slim design, but its single rear camera and battery life have been two common complaints among users who wanted a more complete flagship experience in a thinner body.

What the Latest Leak Says

A leaker with a decent track record claims the iPhone Air 2 will feature a 48MP main camera paired with an Ultra Wide lens, which would make the phone more useful for landscape shots, group photos, and wider scenes.

The same leak also says Apple plans to use a 3,500mAh battery in the iPhone Air 2, which would mark a clear jump from the current iPhone Air’s 3,149mAh battery.

That increase gives Apple more room to improve battery life, especially if the company also uses a more efficient A20 chip based on its newer 2nm process.

Apple may also use thinner display technology to create more internal space without making the phone thicker, which matters because the iPhone Air design depends heavily on keeping the body slim.

If these reports are accurate, the iPhone Air 2 will address two major issues from the first model while keeping the lightweight design that made the Air lineup stand out.

The iPhone Air 2 is expected to launch in the first half of 2027, alongside the regular iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e.
