Apple released an update to the Java engine for PowerPC and Intel-based Macs on Tuesday. The Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Release 4 includes security, reliability, and compatibility improvements, and requires Mac OS X 10.4.5 or higher. The update is available through Software Update, or as a stand alone installer for PowerPC and Intel Macs.
