Workers began peeling away the plastic covering that has been hiding the glass cube entrance for the new New York flag ship Apple Store on Wednesday night. By about 11:00 p.m. eastern time, most of the plastic had been removed, and bystanders could clearly see a large white Apple logo suspended in the center of the cube. ifo AppleStore has a full report on the process along with a series of pictures.
The official grand opening will be on Friday, May 19, but Apple is hosting a special media event today.
