Cross-Platform File Renaming From Sig Software

Sig Software has released an update for NameCleaner, bringing it to version 2.5. NemeCleaner is a file naming utility designed for cross-platform applications. The update has several performance enhancements including a regular expression cleaner and long file name support. According to Sig Software:

NameCleaner is an industrial-strength utility for the Mac OS to manipulate file names and types. It is specially designed to help move files to and from foreign file systems such as MS-DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows 95/98/Me, Windows NT/2000/XP, NetWare and Unix.

Version 2.5 is the 25th release of NameCleaner and the most significant upgrade in its 8-year life. New features include a regular expression cleaner, full support for long file names on HFS Plus and UFS volumes, filters for preparing file names for use under Unix and a contextual menu module for OS X.
