W atch out, world, Big Bad Apple is going to get you. That, according to UK newspaper the Independent, is what Europeis music labels think about Apple. In a news article from yesterday titled "Music majors wary of Appleis online dominance," the Independent reports that Europeis largest recording labels are worried that Apple will become so big with a European iTunes Music Store that the company will be able to hold the labels over the virtual barrel. From the short article:
"The big fear is that Apple will become like an online MTV - where the record labels gave away their content, in the form of videos, without getting control of it," a source familiar with the issues told The Independent. "The older record executives donit want that again, where theyire over a barrel with one big provider."
