How to Tell if the 802.11n Enabler is Installed

If youive installed Appleis 802.11n enabler on your own Mac, you probably remember paying the US$1.99 for the patch. But to find out if the patch has been installed properly or if itis been installed on another computer, Apple has published a short article on how to verify the installation. Hereis how to do it:

  • Navigate to /Applications/Utilities
  • Launch the Network Utility application
  • Select the Info tab
  • Select the popup to display Network Interface (en1)

If the enabler is properly installed, you should see this:

The following Macs have the 802.11n hardware built-in.

  • MacBook Pro with Intel Core 2 Duo
  • MacBook with Intel Core 2 Duo
  • Mac Pro with AirPort Extreme option
  • Mac with Intel Core 2 Duo (except the 17-inch, 1.83GHz iMac)
