Omni Group Updates OS X Utility

The Omni Group, continuing to establish themselves as the early leaders in OS X applications and utilities, has updated the disk utility OmniDiskSweeper. OmniDiskSweeper provides an easy way for users to manage the amount of content on their disks, and to safely get rid of any unnecessary files. According to The Omni Group:

OmniDiskSweeper is a great tool for making space on disks.

When you start OmniDiskSweeper, it presents you with a list of disks attached to your machine. Double-click on one, and a new window opens with a "column" view listing every folder and file on that disk, which it sorts by size as you watch.

You then simply browse through the folders and files and delete the large ones which you are no longer using. The free space on the disk and the ordering of the folders are automatically recalculated. If you arenit sure whatis in a file, you can open it by double-clicking on its icon or dragging its icon onto another application. Itis that easy!

This beta version of OmniDiskSweeper is free and will expire in January. Pricing information for the final version has yet to be announced. You can find more information at The Omni Groupis web site.
