There are lots of great articles, and some really bad ones, on the Internet. Though we link to all of them at MacOS News Around The Web, some of them deserve special mention here. Most of what we will mention within these pages will be among the best, but on occasion we will talk about articles that are so bad or so wrong we just have to say something. Consider them mini-editorials on our part about things we think you might also be interested in.

Best [4:00 PM] TheMacMind - Rumors that STUNK
For those keeping track, I am on day two of Beta, and Classic crashed on me once. Thatis it. Cool, huh? Anyway, we hear all kinds of stuff about rumors, but only the onces that actually prove to be true really get any extended play. What about all those rumors that have proven to be as close to reality as it is likely that Steve Jobs is going to call ME? Our favorite quote from the article:

I?m talking about the 17-Inch screen iMac. You know you wanted to believe this rumor so badly. We all did. The people wanted a bigger viewing area, ever since day one. Well, lets flash forward two years. A whole lot of iMac; not one with a bigger monitor then 15 inch! Apple - how about with the MacWorld Expo in January, bring out iMacs with 17 inch monitors!

You know, he is right. Word of the 17" iMac will appear regularly until the end of the world each January and July. Reviewer - Kyle DiAddario

Best [4:00 PM] Low End Mac: Mac Musings - The Instant Messenger War
Are you a user of AOL Instant Messenger? How about ICQ? Or Yahoo Messenger? Or whatever else you choose to use to widdle away the online hours by chatting with friends? Most use some form of "IM-like" communication client, but what are the impacts of that use? Dan Knight takes a look at just how important it is for companies to get their stake in the instant messaging turf. Our favorite quote from this piece:

"Now do you understand why the software is free, yet everyone wants a piece of the action? Each instant messenger client is a billboard generating income.

Come to think of it, I HATE the ads above my buddy list. Reviewer - Kyle DiAddario
