Tellme Networks announced on Mondaythat Avie Tevanian, former software CTO at Apple Computer, has joined its board of directors. Tellme offers Interenet-based phone communication services. The companyis CEO and co-founder, Mike McCue, stated "He is a fantastic addition to Tellmeis Board and will help guide our technology team on both product and platform development. We are excited to have him at Tellme."
Mr. Tevanian retired from Apple Computer in March. During his tenure, he was responsible for the development of Mac OS X. Prior to that, he worked with Steve Jobs at NeXT on the NEXTSTEP operating system, and was also one of the principal engineers responsible for the deveopment of the Mach kernel at the heart of Mac OS X.
