Voicebank Chooses Proteron As Technology Partner

Voicebank.net, a leader in voice-over network communication, has decided to switch to the wildly popular, high-quality MP3 format for data transaction. In doing so Voicebank needed a partner with significant encoding experience and available technology, and they chose Proteron. Proteron, makers of the MP3 encoder N2MP3, will provide the necessary components for Voicebank to make their switch. According to Voicebank:

When Voicebank.net, the leading on-line voice-over delivery network, decided to transition to the widely accepted MP3 file format, it needed a readily distributable software package for file conversion. The search for MP3 software ultimately led to Proteron LLC, an Omaha based cross-platform software company. Two of Proteronis products: EasyMP3 for Windows and N2MP3 for the Macintosh were considered as candidates to provide Voicebank.net with its MP3 encoding needs.

The software was initially tested in conjunction with several powerhouse talent agencies, including International Creative Management (ICM) in Los Angeles, and Don Buchwald and Associates in New York. After this initial phase of testing, Proteronis encoding software package was chosen due to its cross-platform compatibility and ease of use.

Ultimately, the software will be placed in use by a variety of Advertising agencies, casting directors, production houses and talent agencies with whom Voicebank.net is affiliated.

N2MP3 has long been acclaimed as the high-end encoder for the Macintosh and is top-ranked by MP3.com. EasyMP3 took home the Best Buy award from the September issue of PC User magazine in Australia.

"We are pleased that VoiceBank.net sought Proteronis encoding software out to grow their audio database and delivery system." said Neill Mollard, vice president at Proteron.
