Artificial Life and Starz Digital Media on Monday announced the launch of an App Store game based on the TV series Spartacus: Blood and Sand, which premieres on the Starz network this Friday, Jan. 22. Pricing is US$4.99 and iPhone OS 3.0 is required.
As the name suggests, Spartacus: Blood and Sand features the world of gladiator battles and stars the Thracian hero who sought freedom. Artificial Life said that the characters, weapons, and locations were modeled after their TV show counterparts. Players use a variety of attack and defense combos as they fight in one of four modes: Story, Quick Fight, Challenge, and Head-to-Head, which pits them against a human opponent over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Spartacus: Blood and Sand also features Facebook and Twitter connectivity, for sharing gameplay updates.
