App Updater Now With OS 10.1 Support

Insider Software has released an update for Insider UpdateAgent X, bringing it to version 10.1. Insider UpdateAgent X is an updating app designed to search the internet for vendor updates. The new version has OS 10.1 support, performance enhancements, and maintenance fixes. According to Insider Software:

Insider UpdateAgent X version10.1 was released today with support for Mac OS X 10.1, upgraded support for FTP and HTTP protocols for downloading Macintosh application updaters, as well as several maintenance fixes. The new release now contains direct support for both protocols, attempting to download first via FTP, then via HTTP if FTP fails. The five-mouse-rated Internet service brings all
Macintosh applications up-to-date—including traditional Mac Classic applications, Classic apps carbonized for Mac OS X, and Cocoa applications written specifically for Mac OS X systems.

Insider UpdateAgent X brings every application program on a Macintosh system current with the latest updates released by over 2,000 software vendors. After determining precisely which updaters are required to bring a system up-to-date, UpdateAgent X downloads the updaters over the Internet or copies them from CDs. The program can run automatically at regular intervals, maintains the confidentiality of usersi hard drive contents, and provides hot web links to vendorsi web sites.
