Apple Watch OS Updated with Improvements to Siri, Activity, Calories, New Emoji, Third Party Apps

Apple released the first update to Apple Watch OS Monday with the release of Apple Watch OS 1.0.1. The update includes "performance improvements and bug fixes" for Siri, measuring standing activity, calculating calories, measuring distances, accessibility, and unspecified improvements for third party apps.

You can download and install the update on your iPhone by visiting General > Software Update inside the Apple Watch app. Note that your Apple Watch must be both plugged in and charged to a minimum of 50 percent before the installer will run, which means you can not update the device while it's on your wrist. Which is annoying as all get-out.
