Apple to Introduce iPhone OS 4.0 April 8th

Apple announced Monday that it would introduce iPhone OS 4.0 on Thursday, April 8th, just five days after the company introduced the newest iPhone OS-based device, the iPad. The company began sending out invitations to a media event with the tagline, “Get a sneak peak into the future of iPhone OS.”

According to details of the invitation published by Engadget and other sites, the event will be held April 8th, 2010, at 10:00 AM PDT at Apple’s main campus in Cupertino.

The invitation also used the numeral “4” as a key theme, which strongly suggests that the company will be unveiling iPhone 4.0. Developer leaks heretofore have included information about multitasking, and other features that have long been asked for in the OS. iPhone OS currently operates iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
