< A href="http://www.apple.com/">Apple Computer has updated Xsan to version 1.0.1 in order to provide "improved reliability." Xsan is Appleis enterprise-class network storage solution that provides a 64-bit cluster file system. The update includes two new features, and addresses some minor issues with the software.
From Appleis release notes on changes in version 1.0.1:
- Use the "mv" command to move files from Xsan (ACFS) to Mac OS Extended (HFS+) volumes.
- Save files over 4 GB via SMB/CIFS to an Xsan volume hosted on Mac OS X Server.
- Greater server stability when resharing Xsan volumes via NFS.
- Eliminates spontaneous metadata controller failovers that can result in decreased file performance.
You can find download links for the update at Appleis support site, and a KnowledgeBase article on the update, as well.
