Former Florida Governor and U.S. President Candidate Jeb Bush (Republican) staked out his technology bona fides in a political spot posted to YouTube Friday. In the spot titled Silicon Valley Favorites, Mr. Bush chooses iPhone over BlackBerry, MacBook Pro (laptop) over iPad (as a stand-in for all tablets), and even Apple Watch over Apple Pie. While the ad is likely intended to enhance Mr. Bush's credibility as a tech-savvy politician, most of his choices are Apple-specific—it almost feels like Mr. Bush is courting Apple fans. Of course, Mr. Bush has been public before about his preference for Apple products. With Apple such a large part of contemporary culture—and with the company serving as the paragon for a successful and profitable U.S. company—it seems safe to expect appearances in Apple products in more campaign ads as the race trundles into overdrive.
