Star Trek's Original Enterprise in Movie Shots is as Cool as You Think

There's a special nostalgic beauty to the U.S.S. Enterprise from the classic Star Trek series that still holds up surprisingly well 50 years after it first showed up on television screens. Professional artist Nick Acosta saw that (thanks, Wired), and decided to take the time to show everyone else just how easy it is to visualize the original Enterprise in the movies that followed the TV series—such as Wrath of Khan, and even Star Trek: Into Darkness. He started with photos of the actual Enterprise model at the Smithsonian, then recomposited those into shots from the movies. The end results are fantastic, and show how well the 1965 model holds up to more modern special effects. Warp Speed, Mr. Scott!
