You are very right - you’d be surprised how much the a la carte programming can cost when you spend it on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime etc.  Add in HBO Now, and you are already up to about $45 per month.  I have found that I subscribe to just Netflix, and my library has some great selections, having films available very soon right after they are available on Blu Ray and DVD.
