Scosche has recently introduced the IDR655m earphones for iPod and iPhone although they work with other Mac products as well.
You probably don’t want to buy these for your teen who is always losing their earphones. At an MSRP of $99.99 that could get expensive fast, no matter how much he or she enjoys good quality sound.

Compatibility
The IDR655m are compatible with iPhone 4, iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPod nano (Gen 5), iPod shuffle (Gen 3), iPod touch (Gen 2), iPod nano (Gen 4), iPod classic (120 GB) and Mac computers purchased after Oct 2008.
Using The Product
This product has a lot to offer. The sound quality is very, very good. I tried the set out with my Mac, my iPhone 4, and my iPod Nano 5 with good results in all cases. It just so happens that I own a set of $100 earphones from another well known company, and the quality of the two is very similar although the newer Scosche set rates somewhat better for all over sound.
There are some other advantages to the IDR655m earphones as well. Foremost is the tapLINE II control, a control system built into the cable. There are three buttons that allow you to adjust the volume, control music and video playback, and control play/pause and next/previous.
There is also an integrated microphone for hands-free conversations, voice command and recording voice memos on supported iPod and iPhone models.
Like any set of quality earphones, the package includes small, medium, and large inserts to allow for differences in ear sizes. There is a sheepskin leather travel pouch included as well. The cable length is 52 inches and black is the only color available.
Do I Recommend It?
I do. For one thing, using the SnapTell app on my iPhone, I found the product on Amazon.com for prices under $50, and they are certainly a bargain at that price. The sound quality is very good, and I really like the tapLINE II system. I like being able to adjust my music without taking my nano or phone out of my pocket. I also like the sheepskin travel pouch. It’s stronger than the cloth bag that often accompanies products these days, and it has a snap shut top that keeps everything safely inside. I also have found that products from Scosche, as a whole, are well made and long lasting so I am comfortable recommending them.
