Apple Drops the Third Beta of visionOS 26.5 for the Vision Pro

Apple has now released visionOS 26.5 beta 1 for developers

Apple just released the third developer beta for visionOS 26.5, giving headset owners a fresh batch of software to test out. The company is focusing heavily on refining how spatial apps run in the background in the latest beta for the Vision headset. This virtual reality update joins a massive wave of new test software hitting Apple devices today.

Developers can update the Vision Pro from the system settings

If you have a registered developer account, you can pull down this new software right inside the Vision Pro. Just open the settings app, look for the software update section, and toggle on developer betas to start the download. It is usually best to keep test software off your primary headset to avoid weird glitches or sudden battery drain.

This launch rounds out a very busy software cycle for the brand. Beyond the headset space, the tech giant has also released the iOS 26.5 update to iPhone testers. Tablet users are seeing some action too, as it is currently rolling out iPadOS 26.5 beta 3 with a focus on stability.

The desktop and living room devices are getting similar treatment. The company just finished dropping the third beta of macOS Tahoe 26.5 for developers. Also, Apple tvOS 26.5 beta 3 is here, but don’t expect major new features either. For the Vision Pro and other Apple platforms, users can expect mostly routine bug fixes until the final public launch.
