Apple had a happy and sad week. Happy: British and German customers got their hands on the iPhone this week, and Steve Jobs was named the second most influential person in the IT industry. Sad: It still has to face Burst in court over patent infringement claims, and former General Counsel Nancy Heinen's stock options defense began showing its ugly side.

Observer Comments
1- I agree that the iPhone is not the invention of the year, perhaps the innovation of the year.
2- Bill first, Steve second, somehow all seems right with the world still.
3- Most Game consoles are considered losing props., like cell phone hardware, game companies make money on games, not hardware. Or so says C-net. And most other tech folks.
4- How can you call yourself a geek and not have tried the Nintendo Wii in the year it's been out? for shame!
