San Jose's California Theater is all dressed up and ready to go for Apple's media event on Tuesday. The company is expected to announce a 7.x-inch iPad, as well as a potpourri of other rumors that include a minor upgrade for the larger new iPad with a Lightning connector, a smaller Mac portable with a Retina Display, updated education initiatives, and more.
The Mac Observer will be offering live coverage of the event, which begins at 10:00 AM Pacific (1:00 PM Eastern).

Apple Special Event
The company has posters with the company's logo and imagery that matches the invitation sent to journalists for the media event.

Behind the Steel Curtain
Apple also has three 8' tall panels that continue the theme.

It's Like an Apple Inside an Apple Inside an Apple
The California Theater is an old-school theater that is both intimate and acoustically awesome. Apple has held other events at this theater, including an iPod event in 2004 that featured Bono and The Edge from U2, as shown in the photograph below with Steve Jobs (more photos in the link above).

These media events have lost their sparkle under Tim Cook’s lead. They used to be exciting with genuine anticipation at what was going to be announced. Paced and presented with style, building with incremental pieces of information to the reveal. The leaks both by verbal and visual start months before the events and leave little new to see. What I’d really like to see today is Apple regain it’s mojo.
Well. If you have an Apple TV, you can watch it live today. Mojo or no mojo.
