FileMaker Pro 10 Gets New Interface, More

SAN FRANCISCO -- FileMaker announced the immediate availability FileMaker Pro 10 at Macworld Expo on Monday. The new version of the database application gained a redesigned interface along with built-in SMTP support.

Version 10 also added several new database templates, new script triggers, the ability to save searches, the ability to import from Bento databases, and more.

The company also announced FileMaker Pro Server 10. The new version of the server-level database solution gained server-side direct data import and export support, an updated PHP setup assistant, can build iPhone-friendly versions of database Web sites, and more.

FileMaker Pro 10 is priced at US$299 ($179 upgrade), FileMaker Pro 10 Advanced costs $499 ($299 upgrade), FileMaker Server 10 is priced at $999 ($599 upgrade), and FileMaker Server 10 Advanced costs $2,999 ($1,799 upgrade).
