Spotify Increases Your Library Pin Limit From 4 to 20

Spotify May Let You Edit Your 'Taste Profile' With Written Notes

Spotify is making Your Library easier to use by increasing the pin limit from four items to 20, giving users more space to keep their favorite playlists, albums, artists, podcasts, and other saved content at the top of the app.

Spotify shared the update on Wednesday, confirming that the expanded pinning feature is rolling out globally starting today for both Free and Premium users.

The company said users have been asking for a higher pin limit for years, as the older four-item limit felt too small for people who regularly switch between multiple playlists, shows, albums, or artists.

Spotify expands pinning in Your Library

With this update, users can now pin up to 20 items in Your Library, which makes the section more flexible and easier to organize without constantly searching for the same content.

The change also arrives after Spotify recently addressed user feedback around its disco ball icon, showing that the company is making smaller app changes that directly respond to common complaints.

Apple Music added pinned items last summer in iOS 26, but its limit remains fixed at six items, while Spotify now gives users a much larger cap.

How to pin items on Spotify

You can pin an item in Spotify by following these steps:

  1. Open Your Library in the Spotify app.
  2. Press and hold any playlist, album, artist, podcast, or saved item.
  3. Tap Pin from the menu.
  4. The item will stay at the top of Your Library for quick access.

Spotify also lets users unpin or rearrange pinned items whenever they want, so the top section can change based on what they listen to most.

The expanded pin limit is a small change, but it solves a real problem for regular Spotify users who want faster access to more of their favorite content.
