KT Starts iPad Pre-orders in South Korea

· by · News

KT, Apple’s iPhone partner in South Korea, will begin taking pre-orders for iPads this week, and plans to ship the multimedia tablet to customers some time in November.

An official launch date hasn’t been set yet, according to MarketWatch, although KT does plan to offer the full line of iPad models. The iPad is Apple’s multimedia tablet device that sports a 9.7-inch multi-touch display. It runs iOS and supports most iPhone apps, includes built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and more.

Apple gained government approval to sell the iPad in South Korea only a month ago.

KT competitor SK Telecom is negotiating with Apple in hopes of landing its own iPhone and iPad distribution deal. “We are currently in talks with Apple to offer both the iPhone and the iPad,” said company CEO Man-won Jung.
