QuickTime 7.7 for Leopard Patches Security Flaws

| News

Apple released QuickTime 7.7 for Mac OS X 10.5, or Leopard, users on Wednesday. The update addresses several security-related issues, and is also available for Windows XP users.

The update patches flaws that could allow an attacker to use maliciously crafted graphics, video or audio files to launch an attack on the victim’s computer and potentially cause crashes or run arbitrary code.

The update is free and available through the Software Update application, or as a downloadable installer from the Apple Support Web site.
