Apple is preparing to update every Mac model it sells over the next two years, with new MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio and MacBook Neo models now moving through development.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple will begin the refresh cycle in fall 2026 with an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M6 chip, alongside the first updated iMac models in two years.

Apple Mac roadmap for 2026 and beyond
Apple has several Mac launches planned across late 2026, 2027 and 2028, although memory shortages could affect the timing of some desktop models.
- Entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro: Apple plans to launch this model in fall 2026 with the M6 chip, while keeping a design similar to the current version.
- Updated iMac: New iMac models are also expected in fall 2026, with development reportedly complete for devices carrying the internal names J833 and J834.
- Redesigned MacBook Pro: Apple is preparing new 14-inch and 16-inch models with OLED touchscreens, a revised design and M5 Pro or M5 Max chips for late 2026 or early 2027.
- MacBook Air: Refreshed 13-inch and 15-inch models are expected in early 2027, although they will remain visually similar to the current generation.
- Mac mini and Mac Studio: Apple is testing Mac mini models with M5 Pro and M6 chips, while Mac Studio testing includes M5 Max and M5 Ultra options.
- MacBook Neo: Apple is developing an updated budget model with an A19 Pro chip, additional memory and new colour choices.
Apple is also working on a standard M7 MacBook Pro for 2027, followed by high-end M7 Pro and M7 Max models between late 2027 and early 2028.
OLED technology will gradually reach more Mac products, with an OLED MacBook Air planned for 2028 at the earliest and an OLED iMac also under development. Apple has not announced launch dates for these future models.
