Zens Charging Cable Pro 2 review: a sleek 2-in-1 charger for your iPhone and Apple Watch

Zens’ Charging Cable Pro 2 is a compact 2-in-1 wireless charger: a Qi2 magnetic puck for your iPhone (or other Qi2 phones/earbuds) plus a dedicated Apple Watch charging pad, all hard-wired to a single USB-C cable. It’s positioned as a premium travel and desk companion, sitting in the ~€70 / £60 price range depending on retailer.

On paper it promises 15 W Qi2 fast charging for your phone and fast charging for any Apple Watch, with a total output of up to 25 W and a 1 m braided USB-C cable.

Design and build quality

The first impression is very Apple-adjacent. Both charging discs are finished in smooth white with a metal edge (high-grade aluminium / zinc alloy, depending on market description), attached to a braided black USB-C cable. It feels like a single, well-engineered object rather than a cable with random adapters hanging off it.

The larger puck is a Qi2 / MagSafe-compatible pad sized for an iPhone, while the smaller one is a full Apple Watch charger. The magnets snap an iPhone into place confidently when you use a MagSafe-style case, and the watch side uses the familiar circular magnetic dock Apple users already know. Retailers list it as compatible with all Apple Watch models, which makes it a safe buy even if you upgrade your watch later.

The 1 m cable length is a sensible middle ground: long enough to reach from a bedside outlet or power strip to a nightstand, but short enough that it doesn’t become a tangled mess in a travel bag.

Overall, the materials, compact footprint and braided cable give it that “throw it in the bag and don’t worry about it” vibe that cheaper plastic chargers rarely achieve.

Setup and everyday usability

Using the Pro 2 is straightforward. You plug the USB-C connector into any USB-C power adapter, power bank or laptop, then drop your iPhone on the big puck and your Apple Watch on the small one. The hardware is designed to accept power from any USB-C source, which makes it especially handy in a world where most laptops and power banks already use USB-C.

Because the watch puck is in-line on the cable rather than stuck on a rigid stand, you can lay the watch flat, rest it sideways, or loop the band around the disc on a table. It’s flexible enough for cramped airplane trays, hotel nightstands, or a crowded desk.

Qi2’s stronger, standardized magnet arrangement helps with placement. As long as you’re using a MagSafe-compatible or other magnetic case, the phone basically centers itself; with a plain thin case it still charges, but you’ll want to be a bit more deliberate lining it up.

Charging performance

On the phone side, the Pro 2 delivers up to 15 W of wireless power over Qi2, which is the same top speed as Apple’s official MagSafe puck for current iPhones. In practice that’s fast enough for overnight charging or for big top-ups during the day, especially if you pair it with at least a 20 W USB-C power adapter.

The Apple Watch pad supports fast charging for compatible models, with the total system output rated at up to 25 W. That’s plenty to keep both an iPhone and Apple Watch happy at the same time without obvious slowdowns.

You don’t get the newer 25 W Qi2.2 “ultra-fast” speeds that are starting to appear on a few high-end chargers, but today’s iPhones are still capped at 15 W over third-party Qi2 anyway, so in real-world use you’re not leaving much performance on the table.

Thermally, Qi2 tends to be more efficient than older Qi pads, and the metal housing helps spread heat out. Most users should see stable charging speeds without the pad getting uncomfortably warm, provided the phone isn’t wrapped in a very thick or metal case.

Travel value and real-world use cases

Where the Zens Charging Cable Pro 2 really shines is travel and everyday minimalism:

  • One cable instead of three. You replace a regular USB-C cable, a MagSafe puck, and an Apple Watch puck with a single accessory.
  • Works with what you already carry. Plug it into your MacBook, iPad, power bank, or any USB-C wall charger and you’re good to go.
  • Throw-and-go layout. Because both charging pads are on the cable itself, it works just as well on a nightstand as it does on an airplane tray table or café table. No stand, no folding mechanism, nothing fragile.

Retailers also highlight a three-year warranty, which adds some peace of mind for a product that will be bent, coiled, and tossed around constantly.

What could be better

Even though this is a very strong product, there are a few practical limitations to be aware of:

  • No power adapter in the box. You’ll need your own USB-C charger. For full performance, think in the 20–25 W range or higher if you also want to power something else from the same outlet.
  • Two devices max. This is strictly a 2-in-1: phone plus watch (or phone plus earbuds on the Qi2 pad). If you want a full 3-in-1 family stand for phone, watch, and AirPods all at once, one of Zens’ multi-device docks or the Pro 3 cable is a better fit.
  • Premium pricing. Compared with generic 2-in-1 Apple Watch cables on marketplaces, the Pro 2 costs more. You’re paying for Qi2 certification, metal construction, and brand-name reliability. Whether that’s worth it depends on how much you value design and long-term durability.
  • Not ready for future 25 W Qi2.2 speeds. As Qi2.2 rolls out, some chargers will be able to push up to 25 W wirelessly to compatible phones. This model tops out at 15 W, which is fine for today but may not fully exploit tomorrow’s phones.

None of these are deal-breakers, but they’re worth mentioning in an honest review.

Verdict

The Zens Charging Cable Pro 2 hits a very sweet spot for iPhone and Apple Watch owners who want to travel lighter without giving up fast, reliable charging. It combines a clean, premium design with Qi2-certified performance, strong magnets, and a genuinely handy 2-in-1 layout that works just as well on a nightstand as it does on the road.

If you already own a solid USB-C charger and your daily kit revolves around an iPhone and Apple Watch, this cable is an easy product to recommend. It’s not the cheapest solution, and it won’t replace a full 3-in-1 desk stand, but as a compact “everywhere” charger it’s one of the nicest, most thoughtful options currently available.
