Apple released 26.2 beta 1 earlier this month. The second developer beta for HomePod software is now rolling out alongside the wider OS betas. If you test HomePod updates, you can install it through the Home app after enabling beta updates with your developer Apple ID.
HomePod updates install through the paired iPhone or iPad. Make sure your device is on the latest developer beta, then check Software Update in the Home app.

How to update (short steps)
- On iPhone or iPad, open Home.
- Go to Home Settings > Software Update.
- Tap HomePod Beta Updates and enroll your speaker.
- Return to Software Update and install 26.2 beta 2.
26.2 General Changes
Across the 26.2 cycle, Apple is refining system features and first-party apps. iOS 26.2 adds a Liquid Glass transparency control on the Lock Screen, AirPods Live Translation in the EU, Reminders due-time alarms, and updates to Podcasts and Apple News. Expect HomePod 26.2 to focus on stability and compatibility with these platform changes.
Install only if you are comfortable testing pre-release software, and keep Automatic Updates on for future builds. You can leave the beta at any time from Software Update settings.
