Apple Named as Partner in New US 'Tech Force' AI Program

The Trump administration has announced a new federal program called the U.S. Tech Force. The initiative brings together around 1,000 engineers and technology specialists to work on artificial intelligence infrastructure and other major technology projects across the federal government.

The program focuses on building stronger government technology systems. At the center of the plan is artificial intelligence. The administration wants faster AI adoption as the United States competes with China in this fast-growing field. As a result, Tech Force members will work directly with agency leaders on high-impact projects.

How the U.S. Tech Force Works

Participants will sign up for two-year terms. During that time, they will join teams inside federal agencies and report directly to senior leadership. The goal is speed and accountability. Teams will work on AI deployment, application development, data modernization, and digital service delivery.

The program targets early-career technologists as well as experienced engineering managers. Many recruits will come from private companies. Others will apply through traditional government hiring channels.

Tech Companies Involved

According to an official government website, private sector partners include Apple, Amazon Web Services, Google Public Sector, Microsoft, Nvidia, OpenAI, Oracle, Palantir, Salesforce, and several others.

CNBC reports that these companies have agreed to consider Tech Force alumni for full-time roles after their government service ends. In addition, private partners can nominate their own employees to serve temporary terms in government.

Apple has not yet shared details about how deeply it plans to participate.

Pay, Benefits, and Next Steps

Salaries are expected to range from $150,000 to $200,000 per year, plus benefits. The program also allows participants to stay in government after their term ends if they choose.

CNBC quoted U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor, who said the goal is to put the right talent on the right problems.

The White House says the U.S. Tech Force is nonpartisan and focused on serving the public through better technology.
