How to Download All Songs from Apple Music

If you want your entire Apple Music library available offline, you have probably already noticed the problem. There is no single Download All button. Apple makes you be deliberate. That does not mean you are stuck tapping thousands of songs one by one. Here’s the thing. There are a few smart ways to get everything downloaded without losing your mind.

First, Know the Built-In Limits

Apple lets you download any song, album, or playlist you add to your library. What it does not offer is a one-tap option to download your entire library at once. That applies to iPhone, Android, Mac, and PC.

So the goal is simple. Gather all your songs into one place, then download that place.

Method 1: Download All Songs on iPhone Using a Shortcut

All 25+ New Shortcuts Actions Introduced in iOS 26: Everything You Can Do Now

This is the fastest option if you live on your iPhone.

You can use the Shortcuts app to automatically collect your Apple Music songs into a single playlist. Once that playlist exists, downloading it downloads everything inside it.

  1. You open Shortcuts, browse the Gallery, and look for Apple Music related actions.
  2. Create or use a shortcut that builds a playlist from your library.
  3. Once it runs, head to the Music app, open the new playlist, and tap Download.

It feels like a hack because it is. But it works, and it avoids a computer entirely.

Method 2: Use a Smart Playlist on Mac or Windows

If you are on a Mac or PC, Smart Playlists are your best friend.

You create a Smart Playlist that includes every song in your library by using a rule like time is greater than zero seconds. Turn on live updating so new songs are added automatically.

Once the playlist is created, you hit Download at the top. That pulls every song in your library to your computer. You can then sync that playlist to your iPhone or Android device and download it there too.

This method takes longer but gives you more control.

Method 3: Download All Songs as MP3 Files

If you want permanent offline files that survive a canceled subscription, this is the only route.

Third-party tools can convert your Apple Music library into local MP3 or FLAC files. That means real files stored on your drive, playable anywhere. The tradeoff is obvious. It requires extra software and more setup, but it gives you total ownership of your library.

A Few Settings That Matter

Before downloading anything, turn on Sync Library in your Music settings. Without it, downloads will not behave the way you expect.

If you want everything to download automatically going forward, enable Automatic Downloads. If storage is tight, use Optimize Storage so older songs are removed first.

Also watch your audio quality settings. Lossless and Dolby Atmos sound great, but they eat storage fast.

The Bottom Line

Apple does not make it obvious, but downloading all your songs from Apple Music is absolutely possible. You just need the right approach for your device and your patience level. Pick the method that fits how you listen, set it up once, and you will never have to think about offline music again.
