Apple’s First Foldable iPhone May Beat All Other Rivals on Battery Size

Apple’s Foldable iPhone

Apple’s first foldable iPhone could arrive with the largest battery ever used in an iPhone. Early leaks point to a capacity that moves past current rivals and signals a clear focus on battery life.

A Weibo leaker known as Fixed Focus Digital says the foldable iPhone battery could exceed 5,500 mAh. If accurate, this would beat Apple’s current record holder, the iPhone 17 Pro Max at 5,088 mAh. It would also put Apple ahead of most foldable competitors on raw capacity.

How it compares with other foldables

Rival devices already on sale fall short of the rumored figure.

  • Foldable iPhone (rumored): over 5,500 mAh
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max: 5,088 mAh
  • Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: 5,015 mAh
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: 4,400 mAh

If Apple crosses the 5,500 mAh mark, its first foldable would lead the category on battery size.

Another leaker, yeux1122, previously said Apple was testing batteries between 5,400 and 5,800 mAh, citing supply chain sources. The same account later reported that Apple treated battery life as a top priority while slimming down internal components.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo added that the device will use high-density battery cells to deliver stronger endurance without adding bulk.

Beyond the battery, the device is rumored to feature a 7.8-inch crease-free inner display, a 5.5-inch cover display, Touch ID, two rear cameras, the A20 chip, and Apple’s C2 modem. Apple is expected to launch the foldable alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max later this year.

If these battery claims hold, the foldable iPhone battery will not just be big for Apple. It will set a new benchmark for foldable phones.
