YouTube TV has started rolling out a new set of subscription plans this week. The goal is simple. Give viewers more control over what they pay for, without removing the features that made the service popular in the first place. Instead of one expensive all-in plan, users can now pick smaller bundles built around Sports, News, Entertainment, or Family content.
This move comes after years of steady price increases. YouTube TV launched in April 2017 at $35 per month. Over nine years, the price has more than doubled. The most recent hike arrived in December 2024, when the base plan rose from $72.99 to $82.99 per month. The new plans sit below that price and target viewers who do not need every channel.
New YouTube TV plans and pricing
YouTube TV is rolling out more than ten plans over the next several weeks. Four of them stand out at launch.
- Sports Plan costs $64.99 per month, or $54.99 per month for new subscribers with a one-year discount. It includes major broadcasters like ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox, along with FS1, NBC Sports Network, all ESPN networks, and ESPN Unlimited, which arrives later this year.
- Sports + News Plan costs $71.99 per month, or $56.99 per month for new subscribers with a three-month discount. It adds national news channels such as CNBC, Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, CSPAN, Bloomberg, and Fox Business.
- Entertainment Plan costs $54.99 per month, or $44.99 per month for new subscribers with a three-month discount. It focuses on general entertainment, including FX, Hallmark, Comedy Central, Bravo, Paramount, Food Network, HGTV, and similar channels.
- News + Entertainment + Family Plan costs $69.99 per month, or $59.99 per month for new subscribers with a three-month discount. It combines news and entertainment with family-friendly channels like Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, National Geographic, Cartoon Network, and PBS Kids.
The main YouTube TV plan remains available at $82.99 per month with more than 100 networks.
Core features stay the same
Subscribers on these new plans still get the core YouTube TV experience. That includes unlimited DVR, support for up to six household members on one account, multiview, and key plays. Add-ons remain optional, including NFL Sunday Ticket, NFL RedZone with Sports Plus, HBO Max, and 4K Plus.
In its announcement, YouTube TV said,
“Over the next several weeks we are rolling out 10+ plans across Sports, News, Entertainment and Family content, priced lower than the main YouTube TV Plan.”
The company also said these plans aim to make TV simpler and more flexible, without forcing users into channels they do not watch.
Availability and devices
YouTube TV works across a wide range of devices, including Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad. The new plans are rolling out starting this week, with availability expanding over time.
For viewers tired of paying for unused channels, these new plans offer a clearer choice and a lower monthly bill.
